Saffuriyya Once Again — This Time with Zochrot

In a special and meaningful tour organized in collaboration with Zochrot, we returned once again to the displaced village of Saffuriyya. Among the participants was Mohammad Barakeh (Abu Al-Saeed), an elder and original resident of Saffuriyya, along with Mr. Subhi Abu Salah, Mr. Kamel Barghouthi, and a diverse group of Palestinian and Jewish participants who share a firm belief in the Right of Return for Palestinians. The group was guided by Mr. Omar Agbaria from Zochrot. At the end of the tour, a Jewish educator accompanying the group read a translated poem by the late poet from Saffuriyya,Taha Muhammad Ali, in both Arabic and Hebrew. In addition, Palestinian folk poet Kamal Aloush recited a powerful line of Ataba poetry, which was warmly received by all participants. Representing Al-Sibbat Association, the delegation included board member Kamal Aloush, Khaled Za’roura, and Nancy Jargoura And finally, let it be said loud and clear: The Right of Return is legitimate, sacred, legal — and possible.
